Abbie Deloach Memorial Nursing Scholarship

Established in 2019, this scholarship memorializes the life of Georgia Southern nursing student Abbie Deloach. Deloach was born in 1994 in Savannah, Georgia and graduated from Savannah Christian Preparatory School in 2012 where she was an excellent student and athlete. She excelled in basketball, volleyball, and track. Following graduation, she enrolled in Georgia Southern and was a junior nursing student and active member of the Kappa Delta Sorority. She played in many intramural sports and was on the championship intramural basketball team for Kappa Delta, her family’s legacy. On April 22nd, 2015, Abbie and four other classmates were traveling to Savannah for their last day of clinicals when they all tragically passed as a result of an auto accident. A bridge on I-16 has been named the “Georgia Southern Nursing Angels Memorial Bridge” in their memory. White nursing coats on crosses also adorn the side of the highway. This scholarship is available to outstanding nursing students.
