Bonnie and James Heaston Scholarship

Established in 2014 by Dr. Amy Heaston, this scholarship memorializes the lives of Bonnie and James Heaston. Bonnie Shanks Heaston was born in September of 1920 in Scotch Ridge, Ohio, yet was raised in Napoleon, Ohio. James Heaston was born in April of 1926 and was a Napoleon, Ohio native who served in World War II and attended college thanks to the GI Bill and received a degree in accounting. He worked for General Motors for over thirty years as an industrial engineer. Both Bonnie and James were avid readers and instilled this hobby into their children. This scholarship is available to incoming freshmen who plan to receive a degree from the College of Education.
