Caitlyn Baggett Memorial Nursing Scholarship

Caitlyn Baggett Memorial Nursing Scholarship

Established in 2019, this scholarship memorializes the life of Georgia Southern nursing student Caitlyn Baggett. Baggett was born in Richmond County, Georgia, but was raised in Jenkins County. She graduated from the Emanuel County Institute in 2012 and enrolled in Georgia Southern University as a nursing student. She was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church. On April 22nd, 2015, Caitlyn and four other classmates were traveling to Savannah for their last day of clinicals when they all tragically passed as a result of an auto accident. A bridge on I-16 has been named the “Georgia Southern Nursing Angels Memorial Bridge” in their memory. White nursing coats on crosses also adorn the side of the highway. This scholarship is available to outstanding nursing students.
