Carol A. Carter Music Scholarship
The Carol Carter Music Scholarship was established in 1998 by a gift from Mildred Carter Jenkins. Mrs. Jenkins’ was the sister-in-law to Carol Anderson Carter and aunt to Dr. Harrison S. Carter, a 1966 graduate of Georgia Southern who has served as a former Vice President and Acting President of Georgia Southern.
Dr. Harry S. Carter (BSM, 1966) received his Ph.D. in management science and information systems from The University of Georgia. Formerly vice president for academic affairs and president at Georgia Southern, Dr. Carter was provost and dean of college at The Citadel, Charleston, SC, where he is currently professor of business administration. The Carter Lecture Series, created under the W. E. Carter Eminent Scholar Endowed Chair in Business Administration, honors Professor Emeritus Carter. In 1998, Dr. Carter was named Georgia Southern Alumnus of the Year.
