Cathryn Barnett Shriver Presidential Scholarship

Established in 2003 by Cathryn Barnett Shriver, this scholarship is available to senior students on the Armstrong Campus. Shriver began her education at Armstrong State College when she graduated in 1977 with a degree in Nursing. In 1980, she earned another degree in Nursing from Armstrong and a Master’s of Health Science in 1984. In 1991, she obtained a third degree in Nursing from Georgia Southern University. She is an avid supporter of the botanical garden, athletics, and various scholarships. This scholarship is available to two non-traditional senior students (25+ years) with unmet financial need who are pursuing first post-secondary degrees and are enrolled on the Armstrong Campus. The recipients must have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0. One recipient will receive $2,000 and the other will receive $1,500. The recipient with great need will receive the greater scholarship.
