Construction Management Alumni Scholarship

The Construction Management Alumni Scholarship was established in 2001 by Tom Troutman, a 1984 alum. Mr. Troutman owns New South Construction Company in Atlanta. The scholarship is available to full time freshman or sophomores who have declared a major in Construction Management.

om Troutman, Executive Vice President at New South Construction, oversees business development and partnerships in our Foundational Markets, including federal, aviation and criminal justice. Tom joined New South in 1990 serving as the Manager for Delta Air Lines Technical Operations Center renovations. Throughout his career with New South, Tom has worked to establish and maintain relationships with many of our primary and high profile clients.

Tom is a native Atlantan and attended Georgia Southern University where he obtained his Bachelor of Science in Building Construction in 1984. Tom serves as Chairman for the Georgia Southern University Construction Management Civil Engineering Technical Alumni Committee and serves on the board of the American Concrete Institute – Atlanta Chapter. Tom is also a member of the Georgia Southern University College of Science & Technology Board, Society of Military Engineers, Southern Building Code Congress International – Atlanta Branch, Elaine Clark Center for Exceptional Children and committee member of the Associated General Contractors of America – Georgia Branch. Tom is an active coach of youth league soccer/baseball teams and is a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. Tom and his wife have four children and reside in DeKalb County, Georgia.
