Donald L. Moore, Jr. University Honors Program Scholarship
This scholarship was established in 1998 by Donald L. Moore. Mr. Moore was raised in Brevard, North Carolina and went on to obtain his bachelor’s in Engineering from North Carolina State University in 1966 and his MBA from Georgia Southern University in 1990. Prior to moving to Savannah, Georgia in 1973, Mr. Moore held various positions within General Electric Company. Toward the end of his life, Mr. Moore served as President of Donald L. Moore, Jr. Inc., a development and contracting firm specializing in industrial, commercial, and custom residential projects. He served as Chair of the Board of Trustees of the YMCA Blue Ridge Conference Center in Black Mountain, North Carolina, Director of the Board of United Way, Director of the Board of Child Development Services, Director of the Board of YMCA of Savannah, Director of the Board of Savannah Country Day School, Commodore of the Savannah Yacht Club, and Director of the Board of the Georgia Southern University Foundation. This scholarship is available to members of the University Honors Program.
