Doris Niblett Scholarship

Established in 1990 by friends and colleagues of Ms. Niblett, this scholarship memorializes her dedication as a public school teacher. Ms. Niblett graduated from Georgia Teachers College in 1958 and received a graduated degree from the University of Georgia. After retiring from public school, she re-entered her chosen profession as a teacher Covenant Christian School where she remained until her retirement in 1997. Ms. Niblett was an avid supporter of Georgia Southern and served on the Georgia Southern University Alumni Association Board of Directors and was named the Association’s Alumna of the Year in 1978 and 1993. This scholarship is available to students who are high school graduates from Treutlen County High School in Soperton, GA and are full-time entering freshmen at Georgia Southern University. Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
