Emory W. Mullling University Honors Program Scholarship

This scholarship was established in 1998 by Georgia Southern University alumnus, Mr. Emory W. Mulling. Mr. Mulling graduated from Georgia Southern in 1969 with his B.A. in Sociology and then entered the Army where he served in military intelligence and spent a year in Vietnam. In 1972, he relocated to Atlanta, Georgia where he worked in human resources for some of the city’s largest companies such as Genuine Parts, Gold Kist, and Pepsico. In 1984, Mr. Mulling stabling The Mulling Group, a firm specializing in outplacement, executive coaching, and career development in the southeast. Mr. Mulling has served as President of the Atlanta Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management, was a member of the Georgia Southern University Foundation Board of Directors, was a member of the Parker College of Business Dean’s Advisory Board, was on the Board of Governors of the Institute of Career Certification International, served as Director of Kiwanis Club of Atlanta, served on the Executive Board of Boy Scouts of America-Atlanta Area Council, and served on the Executive Board of the American Cancer Society-Atlanta City Unit. He has been awarded “1993 Georgia Business Person of the Year”, “1996 Prowess Award”, and the “1994 Lifetime Achievement Award”. This scholarship is available to members of the University Honors Program. First preference goes to Sociology majors. Second preference goes to Human Resources Management students. If no such student is found, any UHP student is eligible.
