Gail U. Reed University Honors Program Scholarship
This scholarship was established in 1999 by Georgia Southern University alumna Gail U. Reed. Ms. Reed graduated from Georgia Southern in 1980 with a degree in Accounting and has worked as a CPA PC in Atlanta. During her time at Georgia Southern, she was a member of the Accounting Association and the Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society. In 1990, she was named Hardwick, Cook, and Co.’s first female partner. She has served as President of the American Women’s Society of CPA’s, is a member of the Alumni Association Board of Directors, and the Parker College of Business Advisory Council. She is a Director of the Georgia Society of CPA’S North Perimeter Chapter, a member of the American Institute of CPA’s, a committee member for the Swan House Ball, and an annual fundraiser for the Atlanta Historical Society. In 1998, Ms. Reed was named the Georgia Southern Alumni Association’s Alumna of the Year and The Atlanta Business Chronicle named her one of 10 Women to Watch. This scholarship is available to members of the University Honors Program. First preference shall be given to students majoring in Accounting. If no Accounting majors are found, then second preference will go to any UHP student within the Parker College of Business.
