Herman Lee and Wordna Isabelle Bogan Scholarship for Science and Math Education

The scholarship was established in 1996 by Rose Mae Bogan in memory of her parents, the scholarship’s namesakes. Mr. and Mrs. Bogan were lifelong educators who were committed to providing a better future for young people by instilling in them the value of education. Mr. Bogan was a chemistry professor at the University of Tennessee Medical School, and he served as chair of the Department of Chemistry at both Arkansas State University and Little Rock University. Mrs. Bogan taught at Memphis State University and various secondary schools. She was a non traditional student who graduated at the age of 40 at the top of her class in two majors. She went on to obtain both a masters degree in education and an education specialist degree.
