J. Richard and Dorothy Henry

The J. Richard Henry, Jr. Accounting Endowed Scholarship was created by J. Richard Henry and Dorothy V. Henry in honor and in memory of their son who unfortunately passed away in 2015 from cancer at the young age of 56. Richard was born in Swainsboro, GA and grew up in Statesboro, GA. He graduated from Georgia Southern in 1980 with a BBA in accounting, worked with Price Waterhouse for nine years in Atlanta and Savannah, became a certified public accountant and then became a founding partner in his firm, Holland, Henry and Bromley, LLP. Richard was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also was a prominent community leader of such organizations as the Isle of Hope United Methodist Church, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Georgia Society of CPAs, the Kiwanis Club as well as served on Georgia Southern’s School of Accountancy’s Advisory Council.
