Joe W. Franklin and Bertha D. Franklin Memorial Scholarship

Established in 2001, this scholarship memorializes the lives of Joe W. and Berth D. Franklin. Joe Franklin was born in Bulloch County in 1875 and worked as a farmer until his passing in 1932. Bertha Franklin was born in 1879 and passed in 1964. This scholarship was established by their son, the late William D. Franklin, owner of Statesboro’s Franklin’s Nursery. Individuals applying for the Joe W. Franklin and Bertha D. Franklin Memorial Scholarship must be residents of Georgia, majoring in Nursing and must have and maintain a GPA of 3.2 or higher. The recipient may be in the undergraduate or graduate program.
