Mildred Sharkey

Georgia Southern alumnus, Mildred Sharkey, established the Bobby L. Johnson Secondary Mathematics Fund in 2001. Ms Sharkey was a co-executor of Ms. Johnson’s estate and was a close friend to her. Ms. Johnson was involved in many organizations and according to Sharkey, ‘was a very kind, giving woman’. The purpose of the fund is to provide an annual award for selected undergraduate and graduate students with a demonstrable intent to teach secondary mathematics.
