Richard S. Beene History Scholarship

Established in 2005, this scholarship is available to students majoring in History with preference given to those studying American History and the Civil War. Richard S. Beene graduated from Georgia Southern University in 1973 with a degree in History. Today, Beene is a celebrated journalist and radio show host in his community of Bakersfield, California. He is the President/CEO of the Bakersfield Californian Newspaper.
