Spanish Travel Scholarship

Established in 1991 by Dr. Robert W. (Bob) Haney, this scholarship serves to provide students with an appreciation for Spanish culture for travel in honor of Dr. Haney’s years as a Spanish professor. Dr. Haney began his journey at Mercer University where he earned his BA in 1972 and he continued on to the University of Kentucky where he earned his PhD. Dr. Haney taught Spanish passionately at Georgia Southern for a number of years and worked his way up to Assistant Vice President for the Office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. Since his retirement, Dr. Haney has continued to be an avid supporter of Georgia Southern and continues to support area such as the Botanical Garden, the Department of Music, and the Zach S. Henderson Library.
