The Richter Honors Study Abroad Scholarship

The Richter Honors Study Abroad Scholarship

This scholarship was established in 2001 by Dr. Fred Richter, former Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Studies, Director of the First Year Experience Program and the University Honors Program, and Department of English professor. During his tenure at Georgia Southern, he served seven years as a faculty senator and was an advisor to several student organizations. Dr. Richter was named Professor of the Year in 1971 and received the Faculty Award for Excellence in 1991. In 2001, he was honored once again as Professor of the Year by the Interfraternity and Panhellenic Councils upon his retirement after thirty-two years. This scholarship is available to members of the University Honors Program who intend to study abroad. The student must be in good standing with the University and must have thirty academic credits by the time of intended study abroad.
