Stephanie Routman Memorial Theatre Scholarship

Established in 2007, the Stephanie Routman Memorial Theatre Scholarship was created by Ms. Routman’s family to remember her legacy at Georgia Southern. An Iowa native, Routman earned her MFA in Theatre from California State University, a BA in Theatre from Tufts University, and a Certificate in Directing from Drama Studio in London, England. Among her successes, Routman won Directing Honors from the Kennedy Center/American College Theatre Festival and the Moses True Brown Award for Excellence in Theatre History from Tufts University. During her time, Routman was a professor at Georgia Southern, directing various productions with her expertise. She was also no stranger to community outreach, teaching at the Seattle Children’s Theatre, American Conservatory Theatre, Marin Theatre Group, and South Coast Repertory. This scholarship is available to students wishing to pursue the study of Theatre in a study abroad program or are participating in a summer theatre program. The student must be majoring/minoring in Theatre, be a rising junior or senior, and have maintained a 3.0 GPA in their theatre courses.
