Jane White Marketing Scholarship

This scholarship was established in 2008 per the wishes of Dr. Jane F. White’s will. Born in 1916 in Fayette, Missouri, Dr. White obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from Central State College in 1940 and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Denver in 1950. In 1974, she received her Ph.D. from the University of North Dakota. Dr. White began her tenure at Georgia Southern in 1962 where she served as an associate professor of Office Administration in the School of Business. In 1976, She was appointed to the research committee of the American Business Communication Association. She retired from Georgia Southern in 198 as Professor Emeritus of Business. This scholarship is available to juniors majoring in Marketing who have a cumulative GPA of 2.8 and a minimum GPA of 3.0 in all Marketing courses attempted. Students must have demonstrated evidence of significant participation in extracurricular activities, especially in leadership roles.
