Clara Lois Hodges Scholarship

Established in 1982, this scholarship honors Clara Lois Hodges, former teacher of Claxton-Evans County High School. An Evans County native, Hodges served as teacher for thirty-five years before retiring in 1961. She had taught in Bryan, Chatham, Evans, and Tattnall counties. She belonged to the First Baptist Church of Claxton and was a member of the Georgia Association of Retired Teachers, the Huguenot Society of Georgia, and other local civic organizations. This scholarship is available to full-time traditional students majoring in any field who are graduates of Claxton-Evans County High School.
