Brannen Creative Writing Award

Criteria and Description: This award will recognize outstanding achievement in each of three genres: poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction.

Any student who is (1) majoring in Writing and Linguistics, minoring in one of its fields, or concentrating in Writing through the Bachelor of General Studies program and (2) a first-year student or a sophomore (accrued no more than 60 credit hours) at the time that the creative piece is submitted for consideration is eligible.

The judges will be three faculty members from the Department of Writing and Linguistics who have expertise in creative writing. Winners are announced in fall of each year.
