Angelyn B. and Charles W. Sims Scholarship

Established by alumna Angelyn B. Sims, this scholarship memorializes the life of her late husband, Charles W. Sims. Charles was born in December of 1931 in Augusta, Georgia and went on to earn his degree from Georgia Southern in 1956. Following his graduation, he taught Industrial Arts and Mechanical Drawing at Fort Valley High School, working alongside his wife. During his life, he served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He passed in 2006. This scholarship is available to students who are employed as teachers and are seeking a graduate degree or certification. The recipient must be admitted to the teacher education program (TEP) and to graduate school. The recipient may be part-time or full-time, but must maintain a 3.0 GPA.
