Troy A. Athon Scholarship

Established in 1995 by Georgia Southern College alumnus (1959) Troy A. Athon Sr. and his wife Rachel Athon, this scholarship serves as a memorial to their son, Troy A. Athon Jr. Troy A. Athon Jr. was born in March of 1961 and passed in January of 1979 during his senior year at Rockdale County High School in Conyers, Georgia. His father, Troy A. Athon Sr. has served as executive vice president of the Georgia Health Care Association, state representative to the Georgia General Assembly, and has operated a nursing home in Lithonia. This scholarship is available to incoming students who are graduates of Rockdale or Green Count High Schools.
