Reeves-Peace Scholarship
Established in 2005, this scholarship memorializes the life of Dr. Karl E. Peace’s high school math teacher, Mr. Bill Tom Reeves. Dr. Peace graduated from Baker County High School in 1959 and earned his BS in Chemistry from Georgia Southern College in 1963. He has received many awards such as, 1998 Distinguished Alumnus of GSU, 2003 Alumnus of the Year in Private Enterprise, 2005 President’s Medal, the Georgia Cancer Coalition’s Distinguished Cancer Scholar, 1991 Star Alumnus of the Medical College of Virginia, and 2005 MCV Founder’s Society award. During his life, he has held titles such as the founder and editor-in-chief of the Journal of Biopharmaceutical Statistics, a Fellow of the American Statistical Association, the founder, president, CEO, and CSO of Biopharmaceutical Research Consultants, Inc, the founder of the Biopharmaceutical Applied Statistical Symposium, architect of the MPH in Biostatistics at GSU, the founder and director of the Karl E. Peace Center for Biostatistics at GSU, and the endower of the JPHSPH at GSU. This scholarship is available to outstanding high school graduates from Baker County majoring in one of the following: Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Sciences, Information, Technology, or Biostatistics.
