Georgia Southern University Foundation Scholarship

Established in 1985, the purpose of the Georgia Southern University Foundation Scholarship is to provide recognition and financial support to students based on their academic performance. On occasion, if a student has financial need and is unable to receive support from the Office of Financial Aid, scholarships/grants from this fund are offered. In these cases, the student’s desire to remain in school is considered more important than grades. And lastly, travel scholarships may be awarded to Georgia Southern University student organizations so that their members can travel to approved conferences.
Criteria include recommendations from faculty and staff, academic standing, personal character, and financial need. Scholarships are given on an as-need and as-available basis. Scholarship amount depends upon availability of funds and each recipient’s need.
