Levon S. Jones, Jr. Memorial Scholarship
The Levon S. Jones, Jr. Memorial Scholarship is established in memory of Bulloch County native Levon S. “Bena” Jones, Jr.. Jones was born in 1979 and graduated from Statesboro High School in 1998. He then enrolled in Georgia Southern as a full-time student. He was an active member of Magnolia Baptist Church where he sang in the choir. His life should not be remembered for the way it was tragically taken, but for the way it was lived in the happiness in each moment. Jones’s smile reflected his love he had for the world. This scholarship is available to any incoming freshmen who graduated from the Bulloch County School System. The recipient should have and maintain a GPA of at least 2.75, be of high moral character, be considered a leader among peers, and display a strong sense of community service and involvement. The recipient must demonstrate high financial need. This scholarship is renewable.
