Donna R. Brooks Endowment

This scholarship was stablished in 2013 by Dr. Donna R. Brooks to support undergraduate, full-time students majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders. Dr. Brooks earned her B.S. and M.S. from Hampton University in Virginia and went on to obtain her Ph.D. from Purdue University in Indiana. She currently holds the American Speech-Language Hearing Association’s certificate of clinical competency and is licensed by the state of Georgia. Dr. Brooks began her teaching career at Armstrong in 1995 and since her tenure, she has served as Department Head and as Interim Dean of the College of Health Professions where she currently serves as the Assistant Dean. Dr. Brooks played an instrumental role in gaining initial accreditation for the Communication Sciences and Disorders program in 2004. This scholarship is available to full-time undergraduate Communication Sciences and Disorders majors who graduated from a public high school from one of the following counties: Bryan, Chatham, Effingham, Liberty, Tattnall, or Toombs. The recipient must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and have unmet financial need equal to or greater than the scholarship amount. Those who have previously been awarded this scholarship are not eligible.
