Jeremy Shane Yates Endowed Mechanical Engineering Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is dedicated to the loving memory of a Georgia Southern University graduate, Jeremy “Shane” Yates. Shane earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering at the age of 38. His grit and sheer determination led him to achieve his dream of working as a successful engineer for the Southern Company at Plant Vogtle Units 3 and 4 before losing his battle to liposarcoma at 43 years old.
