Georgia Power/Chris Hobson Honorary Scholarship

Established in 2014, this scholarship honors the work and dedication of former Southern Co. Services Inc. Chief Environmental Officer and Researcher, Chris Hobson. During his time at the company, Hobson was instrumental in developing innovative solutions for the environment. Chris Hobson previously earned his B.S. in Chemistry from Georgia Southern in 1973 and his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1979. This scholarship is available to rising juniors or rising seniors majoring in Chemistry while maintaining a 3.0 overall grade point average.
