Juanita Clifton Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was established in 2014 by Dr. Thomas and Mrs. Sandra Bigwood in memory of their mother and mother-in-law, Ms. Jaunita Clifton. Clifton was born in January of 1925 in Brooklet, Georgia. She graduated from Georgia Teachers College in 1940 with a degree in Home Economics Education and began teaching in Bryan County. During her life, Mrs. Clifton was the oldest and longest serving member of the Brooklet United Methodist Church where she was an active member of the Mollie Lee Sunday School Class and the Keturah Circle of the United Methodist Women. She also belonged to the Bulloch County Historical Society and the Brooklet Supper Club. This scholarship is available to an undergraduate or graduate student with a stated desire to pursue a career in secondary education.
