Warren F. (Spike) Jones Endowed Scholarship
In 1972, Warren F. “Spike” Jones left his position as Dean of Administration at the University of Louisville to serve in Georgia Southern’s Collge of Arts and Sciences. During his time, Jones helped establish the Georgia Southern University Botanical Gardens, that of which he is still a staunch supporter. In 2002, Jones receive the DeenDay Smith Lifetime Achievement Award for his life’s works. In 2003, Jones was recognized as the Statesboro Rotary Club Citizen of the Year for his work with the club, Georgia Souther, and Habitat for Humanity. This scholarship is available to junior and senior students within the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
