Amy was raised in Dalton, Georgia and graduated from Georgia Southern with a degree in Geology and Anthropology. Semratedu works for BASF Functional Polymers Carpet Business where she performs research and formulates latex adhesives for carpet backing, improves the sustainability and recyclability for carpet backing systems, and researches renewable energy trends. Her main focus is green energy and sustainability as she has arranged field trips for Georgia Southern’s Geology students and projects for the GeoClub students. Semratedu serves on the Allen E. Paulson College of Science and Technology Advisory Board where she focuses on improving campus sustainability. In 2003, Semratedu received the GEM individual Award for her leadership in organizing the Talking Rock Trail at Eton Elementary School.
