Mary and Duncan James Memorial Education Scholarship

Established in 2006 by Mr. A.W. James and Mr. Norris Strickland, this scholarship memorializes the lives of Mary and Duncan James. The James’ were Mr. A.W. James’ parents and Mr. Strickland’s in-laws through their daughter Evelyn and both are alums of Georgia Southern. Mary James was born in 1891 in Tattnall County and passed in 1962. Duncan James was born in Pierce County in 1889 and he passed in 1955. This scholarship is available to a Pierce County resident majoring in Education who is a full-time student. The recipient must maintain a 3.0 GPA during the award period.
