Susan Bacon MacLachlan Memorial Scholarship

Established in 1988, the Susan Bacon MacLachlan Memorial Scholarship was created in memory of Susan Bacon MacLachlan by her parents, Robert and Faye Bacon. MacLachlan was a Metter, Georgia native who graduated from Statesboro High School and Georgia Southern University and was completing a master’s degree in Educational Leadership at Florida Atlantic University. She was the Director of Admissions, Records, and Registration and Acting Dean of Enrollment Management at Daytona Beach Community College. MacLachlan was an active member of Phi Kappa Phi, the American and Southern Associations of Collegiate Registrars and Admission Officers, the Florida Association of Women in Education, and the National Academic Advising Association. This scholarship is available to students pursuing a degree in any major within the Department of Communication Arts. They must be rising juniors or seniors who are enrolled full-time and have a 2.8 GPA. The selected students should be considered of high moral character and a leader among their peers.
