Carol Carter Music Scholarship

The Carol Carter Music Scholarship was established in 1998 by a gift from Mildred Carter Jenkins. Mrs. Jenkins’ was the sister-in-law to Carol Anderson Carter and aunt to Dr. Harrison S. Carter, a 1966 graduate of Georgia Southern who has served as a former Vice President and Acting President of Georgia Southern. Student applicants for the Carol Carter Music Scholarship must demonstrate outstanding musical talent and academic excellence. After the initial award, students must have a 3.0 cumulative grade point average to continue to receive the scholarship. Students must demonstrate service to others and be of the highest integrity. Students must submit recommendations from the appropriate clergy and community leaders.
