Bette B. Anderson Scholarship

Established in 1984, this scholarship memorializes the achievements of Bette B. Anderson. Anderson holds the title of being the first woman to serve as Under Secretary of the U.S. Treasury when she was appointed by President Jimmy Carter. In her life, she was responsible for the Treasury Department’s Office of Administration, Office of Enforcement and Operations, U.S. Secret Service, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, U.S. Customs Service, Bureau of the Mint, Bureau of Engraving and Prints, Bureau of Governmental Financial Operations (now the Financial Management Service), Office of the Treasurer of the United States and the Savings Bond Program. She is still alive today at ninety years old. This scholarship is available to full-time undergraduate students pursuing any major.
