Carol Carter Music Scholarship

This scholarship was established in 1998 by a gift from Mildred Cart Jenkins in honor of Carol Carter. Mrs. Carter was born in Bulloch County in 1915 and graduated from Wesleyan College where she studied Music. Her son, Dr. Harrison S. Carter, would grow to become Vice President and President of Georgia Southern. Student applicants for the Carol Carter Music Scholarship must demonstrate outstanding musical talent and academic excellence. After the initial award, students must have a 3.0 cumulative grade point average to continue to receive the scholarship. Students must demonstrate service to others and be of the highest integrity. Students must submit recommendations from the appropriate clergy and community leaders.
