Lon Carnes/Delta Sigma Pi Scholarship
Established in 1981 by Delta Sigma Pi, this scholarship memorializes their advisor, Dr. Lon Carnes. A Jonesboro, Georgia native, Dr. Carnes attended the University of Georgia where he was an active member of the Kappa Sigma Beta Lambda chapter and served as Grand Master. He earned his B.B.A in 1953 and began working in Georgia Southern’s School of Business in 1967. There he served as the Director of Graduate Studies for the School of Business and as Executive Director of the Eastern Finance Association of the U.S. Upon his retirement in 1994, he was named Professor Emeritus in Finance. The scholarship is available to undergraduate members in good standing with the local Chapter of Delta Sigma Pi Fraternity. Recipient must be enrolled full time during the award period with a minimum grade point average of 2.6 and have demonstrated financial need.
