Morris Slotin Physical Therapy Scholarship
Established in 2002, this scholarship memorializes the life of Morris Slotin. For the first twenty years of his career, Slotin served as a sound engineer for music idols such as the B-52’s, Blue Oyster Cult, Aerosmith, the Talking Heads, and Patti LaBelle. However, he decided to return to school at age thirty-nine and pursue a career in physical therapy. He enrolled in Hunter College in New York City and following graduation, he worked as a senior physical therapist at Manhattan’s Beth Israel Hospital. In 1994, he returned to Savannah and worked full time for CareOne Home Health Services as well as served as a clinical instructor for Physical Therapy majors at Armstrong. The Morris Slotin Physical Therapy Scholarship is for students enrolled in Physical Therapy Program and entering the field of physical therapy as a second career. Must demonstrate outstanding performance in the academic and clinical curriculum.
