Claude A. Howard Scholarship

The late Claude A. Howard was born in Bulloch County in 1912. After graduating from Statesboro High School, Howard attended Georgia Southern University, then known as South Georgia Teachers College, and soon assumed a role at his father’s sawmill business. Today, Howard Lumber and Hardware and Claude Howard Lumber Company are still owned and operated by the Howard family. This scholarship in his memory is awarded to students majoring in Manufacturing Engineering with a 2.5 GPA or higher.
